PPD (formerly known as Purple Pantie Dropper) was Humboldt Seed Co's very first strain. This auto-flowering version, PPD Auto, is an indica-dominant, three-way cross of Matanuska Mist, Purple Haze and Oregon Grape that has been back-crossed 8 times (Bx8) and features added ruderalis genetics. It was originally named after its alleged aphrodisiac properties.
Although an indica-dominant strain, PPD Auto is nicely-balanced by its sativa genetics. It is characterised by good production, highly vigorous growth and a rich purple colour. These plants develop uniformly and grow rather large. This strain's life-cycle is completed in 80 - 100 days from germination. Yields are said to be very high.
The scent produced by PPD Auto is rich, sweet and floral. THC content ranges between 18 - 25% with just 0.1% CBD. The effect is euphoric and mood-enhancing with definite aphrodisiac tendencies. Therapeutically recommended for its anti-anxiety (anxiolytic) qualities.
Autos can be sown in multiple waves through the season for staggered harvests.
Autoflowers follow their own internal clock, making indoor timelines easier to plan from seed to harvest.

In theory most strains can be grown outdoors, indoors or in a greenhouse but how well they perform depends on the more exact environmental conditions. This is most important outdoors where climatic conditions can vary widely, so please check the strain information carefully. If your climate is more extreme or growing season shorter you should choose strain that is specifically adapted. Indoor and greenhouse environments can be controlled and made suitable for most strains although space can be a factor for strain that grow very large.
Growing difficulty varies depending on a strain's resilience, structure and environmental needs. Some strains are more forgiving and better suited to beginners and a range of environmental conditions, while others may require closer control of factors such as light, humidity, temperature and feeding.
Our product information and that provided by suppliers can be an indication of potential levels under optimal conditions, and it should not be assumed that results can be replicated in all conditions.
Strains described as beginner-friendly, easy to grow or resilient, in particular Autoflowering Feminised strains, are generally more manageable for less experienced growers. These varieties are often a more reliable starting point than more specialised genetics.
