Blue Dream boasts two very highly-rated, classic cannabis strains as parents, namely Blueberry Ice and a very special U.S. Haze cut. This is a Californian cannabis strain that is 70% sativa and which produces high THC levels in less than 10 weeks of flowering. Growers can expect good to very good yields with an uplifting and long-lasting cerebral effect. Although not an especially difficult strain growers will undoubtedly benefit from some previous experience to realise its potential.
Blue Dream grows into a medium-sized plant when cultivated indoors but it is in outdoor gardens that this great strain really displays its full potential. Taking between 65 - 70 days to complete its flowering cycle indoors, Blue Dream can produce yields of approximately 500gr/m2. Outdoors it is a plant that thrives in dry, Mediterranean climate regions such as that of its home in California where it reaches a height of 250 - 350 cm. Northern hemisphere harvests will be ready in the middle of October with very good yields between 700 - 850 gr/plant. Expect some large bud development.
The flavour of Blue Dream is softly citric (lemon) with notes of Haze and Madeira fortified wine. THC levels are high while CBD content is low at less than 1%. In terms of effect Blue Dream imparts a soft cerebral sensation with a great stimulating power. In all a very pleasant high from which it is difficult to return to reality such is its long-lasting power.
Blue Dream is particularly high in the monoterpene Alpha-Pinene which has many therapeutic and medicinal benefits including: as an anti-inflammatory, for bronchodilation, high MRSA resistance/antibacterial, it counters the short-term memory loss effects of THC, acts as an antidote to THC overdose effects, and is also anxiolytic.
Photoperiod strains rely on seasonal daylight changes, so harvest timing is closely tied to your local climate.
Photoperiod strains give indoor growers more control over size, shape, and when flowering begins.

In theory most strains can be grown outdoors, indoors or in a greenhouse but how well they perform depends on the more exact environmental conditions. This is most important outdoors where climatic conditions can vary widely, so please check the strain information carefully. If your climate is more extreme or growing season shorter you should choose strain that is specifically adapted. Indoor and greenhouse environments can be controlled and made suitable for most strains although space can be a factor for strain that grow very large.
Growing difficulty varies depending on a strain's resilience, structure and environmental needs. Some strains are more forgiving and better suited to beginners and a range of environmental conditions, while others may require closer control of factors such as light, humidity, temperature and feeding.
Our product information and that provided by suppliers can be an indication of potential levels under optimal conditions, and it should not be assumed that results can be replicated in all conditions.
Strains described as beginner-friendly, easy to grow or resilient, in particular Autoflowering Feminised strains, are generally more manageable for less experienced growers. These varieties are often a more reliable starting point than more specialised genetics.
