Description

This is an unusual cultivar from the highlands of Northern Thailand and the nearby border regions of Burma. It may have originated through Yunnanese chinensis cultivars hybridising with narrow-leaflet Thai ganja cultivars. This is a process through which some Indochinese ganja cultivars are thought to have originated.

This strain is cultivated by various ethnic groups in this highland border region, including the Lahu, a trans-border hill tribe living in northern Thailand, northern Laos, Burma and Yunnan. Its appearance and effect are markedly different from those of the Thai-Lao ganja gene pool of the Mekong region of Northeast Thailand.

The Highland Thai strain can grow exceptionally tall, given space, potentially reaching over 4m in soil outdoors. Plants can have notably broader leaflets than typical Thai ganja cultivars. Seeds are large, also suggesting a genetic connection to Yunnanese chinensis strains.

Calyxes are large and resinous, with denser bud formation than is usual for a ganja strain. There are two main phenotypes, namely green and purple. Green types often have a musky, citrus aroma, and purple-blue phenotypes can have mango-carrot scents.

The high has been described as unique in providing a clear conscious expansion with a calm quality.

This is a rare and little seen strain that is recommended to collectors and breeders.

Germination Promise

We updated our germination policy on 1st July 2023. Click here to read the full germination policy.

At Seedsman.com we pride ourselves on the quality of the products we sell and take good care of key quality considerations – like viability.  We are entirely confident with the products we sell.

We insist suppliers only make available for sale seeds that are over 90% germination.  When they arrive with us, we carry out further independent germination tests to confirm viability.

We recommend as seeds are live products that customers always buy 10% more seeds than they need, to allow for reasonable losses, or user error, and avoid any disappointment.

Please note, mystery boxes are not included in the germination promise

  • We only stock the best quality seeds from the most trusted breeders
  • Our seeds are stored in safe, temperature-controlled environments
  • Sometimes (but rarely) seeds don’t germinate. If this happens to you, contact us. We will send you a replacement*.
  • We take seed quality very seriously and feed back to suppliers any quality issues
  • All the product information found on this site is correct to the best of our knowledge**.

This is a TALL plant. Are you sure these aren't really Triffid seeds? It's so big we think it's eating small birds and mammals. We've got an outdoor grow in SoCal and it seems to love our climate. Our advice is nurse it under grow lights from seed to about half a foot tall and then replant in a 5 or 7 gallon container, feed it weekly and watch it grow. The live bush has a sweet, earthy aroma, without the stink of a crossbreed and won't attract anyone downwind. We get a soaring intellectual high but no paranoia. 100% germination. We grow only landrace strains and this strain is one of the reasons we switched away from crossbred plants.

5/5 germination, very healthy and vigorous plants! I made the insane decision to grow these indoors, and have kept height under control with brutal supercropping. They're now on week 13 of flower and are nowhere near finished... I had them in 2-gallon pots with organic soil, but would definitely go bigger next time to make nutrient issues a little bit less likely. They give off a distinctive carrot-citrus aroma when rubbed, and one has a pronounced bubblegum scent--looking forward to tasting these beasts!
