Purple Punch F1 FAST is a 75% indica strain bred by crossing Purple Punch with (GMO Cookies x Legend OG). Grow Purple Punch F1 FAST for its high degree of vigour, big yields, high potency and its fruit and fuel nose.
Purple Punch F1 FAST are tall plants reaching 200cm. or more outdoors. They prefer hot, warm, dry as well as humid climates, the latter due to its mould-resistance. When sown in mid-May, plants are ready in the first half of September in northern latitudes while those in the southern hemisphere are ready in March following planting in November. Flowering times indoors are 7 - 9 weeks. Yields are very good with chunky, resinous buds displaying both light and dark green with splashes of purple.
The terpene profile is tasty, a blend of fruit and fuel with a creamy finish. THC content is very high, reaching 27%, giving a very potent indica effect that is relaxing and great for unwinding after a long, hard day.
F1 cannabis seeds or plants are the first generation offspring of two parent plants. F1 hybrid seeds or strains are the first generation offspring of two pure, distinct strains. Note that using two pure lines, the result of intensive inbreeding, is drastically different to simple cross-breeding.
F1 plants have been used for decades throughout the agricultural industry because they offer several advantages; hybrid vigour allows plants to grow bigger more quickly. Plants are more uniform, stable and offer greater resistance to plant pests and diseases. Yields are much higher too, an important consideration.
However, it should be noted that it is not recommended to allow F1 plants to breed for seed crops as the resulting F2 plants will be much less uniform, being less stable and having greater genetic variability. New F1 seeds will need to be purchased or a lengthy and complex F1 breeding project carried out to produce more seedstock.
So-called FAST (version) cannabis strains are photoperiod strains that have been crossed with an autoflowering strain with the progeny being selected for further breeding to produce seeds on the basis of non-autoflowering characteristics. In other words, they are phoperiod (photosensitive) plants that have inherited the auto parent's tendency for shorter and earlier flowering times.
While FAST versions have very similar traits to the photoperiod parent, and can be grown indoors, they are possibly most useful to outdoor growers in more marginal regions where standard photoperiod versions might not mature before bad weather sets in. They are also recommended for the more impatient grower who doesn't want full autoflowering plants.
Depending on the original photoperiod version's flowering time, a FAST version may complete the flowering cycle between two and four weeks earlier.
Fast / Early strains keep the photoperiod growth pattern, but they begin flowering earlier and usually finish sooner — helping outdoor growers harvest before late-season weather becomes a problem.
Fast / Early strains are most valuable outdoors, where earlier flowering and shorter bloom times help growers harvest before poor autumn weather. Indoors, their main benefit is a faster flowering phase than photoperiod versions.
In theory most strains can be grown outdoors, indoors or in a greenhouse but how well they perform depends on the more exact environmental conditions. This is most important outdoors where climatic conditions can vary widely, so please check the strain information carefully. If your climate is more extreme or growing season shorter you should choose strain that is specifically adapted. Indoor and greenhouse environments can be controlled and made suitable for most strains although space can be a factor for strain that grow very large.
Growing difficulty varies depending on a strain's resilience, structure and environmental needs. Some strains are more forgiving and better suited to beginners and a range of environmental conditions, while others may require closer control of factors such as light, humidity, temperature and feeding.
Our product information and that provided by suppliers can be an indication of potential levels under optimal conditions, and it should not be assumed that results can be replicated in all conditions.
Strains described as beginner-friendly, easy to grow or resilient, in particular Autoflowering Feminised strains, are generally more manageable for less experienced growers. These varieties are often a more reliable starting point than more specialised genetics.
