Desfrán is a legendary variety in South America and a multiple prize winner of many cannabis cups.
Desfrán is the result of crossing Destroyer with Destroyer, she was originally a 3-way crossing of Mexican Oaxaca, Colombian Punto Rojo and Meao Thai and comes to Dutch Passion thanks to Alberto from Argentina. Alberto is a Master Grower, Cannabis Connoisseur and owner of Haze Magazine.
Dutch Passion's first project with Alberto was to introduce Desfrán to Europe. During vegetative growth Desfrán needs little nutrition. She grows well in soil especially with plenty of root space, and grows vigorously in other methods too. Desfrán is 100% Sativa so she can grow very tall and develops long branches which can dominate the airspace/growroom in no time. In vegetative growth, the stem can produce intense fruity aromas when rubbed. During flower, she stretches and can triple her height. Desfrán is very resinous variety suited for SOG and SCROG grow methods and usually takes 9-10 weeks to flower. It has a fruity aroma similar to pear and green apples, the taste is like enjoying a pear caramel with hints of grape and melon.
Desfrán produces unusually dense and compact flowers for a Sativa. When dried, the flowers look like glazed pinecones. Early harvest can result in a very cerebral and psychedelic high, but if you harvest Desfrán late she tastes sweeter and is a true destroyer. Desfrán is one of the best varieties Alberto has ever seen, and Seedsman hopes you will think the same.

The smell is absolutely heavenly! It really does smell like pear and apple. No typical cannabis smell at all which would make this ideal for low odor grows. The plant structure is textbook Sativa with thin fan leaves and very tall flowering spires. I just used Living Soil for the medium (I did an indoor grow) and found her to even be sensitive to just that without any additional nutrients. Very little to no nutrients are needed! She loves spray baths versus deep watering and truly is highly disease tolerant.
I pulled the plant at 10 weeks. Trichomes were mostly cloudy with one or two amber here and there. The flavor definitely presented a grape flavor with a melon aromatic affect upon exhale and got even better the longer the cure. A high thc level as it kicked in immediately and was almost too much to take mentally at first. As I dabbled with with with amounts I found this strain to really help creativity. I also found I could achieve minor hallucinations as one night my curtain looked as though rain drops were lightly pattering it like the surface of lake during a light shower. Definitely fun recreationally, but I found I could use lightly and get an energy boost. Sativa lovers would appreciate her!
