Landrace

Landrace cannabis seeds are connected to some of the oldest and most regionally distinct cannabis genetics in the world. A landrace strain is a cannabis variety that has naturally adapted over generations to a specific geographic area, such as parts of Afghanistan, Thailand, Colombia, India, Mexico, or Africa. These genetics often reflect the climate, altitude, growing season, and traditional cultivation practices of their native region.

For growers, the Landrace category offers a window into cannabis history and genetic diversity. Landrace strains are often valued for their pure lineage, distinctive terpene profiles, unusual growth traits, and importance in breeding work, as many modern hybrids trace their ancestry back to these foundational genetics.
