Jeff Sessions Insists Medical Marijuana Has Been "Hyped, Maybe Too Much"

It has been a rocky start to Jeff Sessions first two months as Attorney General. His forthright comments have been considered divisive, with some welcoming the conservative step, while others have condemned the old fashioned thinking of the new presidential team. One group of people that have been less than impressed with some of Sessions' new comments are the medical cannabis community. After proclaiming that the new presidency means a tougher stance on cannabis laws, Sessions has further angered the community by insisting that medical marijuana has been "hyped too much". Speaking to reporters after an event addressing crime in Virginia, Sessions remarked, "I think medical marijuana has been hyped, maybe too much. Dosages can be constructed in a way that might be beneficial, I acknowledge that, but if you smoke marijuana for example, where you have no idea how much THC you're getting, it's probably not a good way to administer a medicinal amount. So forgive me if I'm a bit dubious about that." These comments have generated confusion amongst many, due to President Trump's steadfast support of medical marijuana during his campaign run. Many are now wondering what the new presidency means for the medical cannabis industry and whether access to necessary medicine will once again be a difficult endeavour. Is Jeff Sessions correct in his analysis? Let us know what you think!
