Denmark's Health Minister Sophie Løhde has revealed plans for medical cannabis trial in the country, commencing from 2018. The trial would permit medical professionals to prescribe cannabis to patients with a specified list of serious medical conditions. People eligible to partake in the trial will be sufferers of Multiple Sclerosis, Back Injury, Chronic Pain and the effects of Chemotherapy. The trial period, which is set to last four years, will mirror the model that the Netherlands used before they legalized medical cannabis in 2003. This will involve GP's being able to prescribe their patients cannabis products as a recommended medicine. Support for medical cannabis legalization in Denmark is at an all-time high, especially after a number of political parties in the country voiced their opinions. Prominent members of the Socialistisk Folkeparti, Socialdemokratiet, Radikale, Enhedslisten, Folkeparti and Liberal Alliance parties are in favour of a move toward legalization. More to Follow.
