Epilepsy is a collection of neurological diseases categorised by epileptic seizures. Seizures are events that can differ from transitory and almost unnoticeable to extended episodes of vigorous shaking. These incidents can result in physical damage including occasionally broken bones.

There have been various studies on the effect of cannabis on Epilepsy and its related symptoms.

In 2013, a survey was conducted by Stanford University and answered by the parents of children suffering with treatment resistant Epilepsy. In the survey, it was revealed that 84% of children had experienced a reduction in seizure frequency after taking cannabinoid-enriched cannabis.

While in 2016, a study from the New York University revealed that nearly 40% of 162 test patients experienced a reduction in motor seizures after ingesting CBD, while 2% of these patients were completely free of seizures after ingestion.
