Acapulco Gold takes its name from the old-time legendary Mexican cannabis strain but improved genetics and selective breeding have raised the stakes in terms of its sheer quality. Its appearance harks back to the old days too with green buds flecked with red-brown hairs and shining with resin crystals.
Acapulco Gold's genetics are mostly sativa and hail from Central America. Plants are quite short and rarely grow much more than a meter or so tall. It grows in all environments and will be ready after 60 - 70 days flowering indoors yielding around 500 gr/m2 of weed with 21% THC.
The dried buds have a fruit cocktail character which lingers long on the taste-buds. Its effect is exceedingly long-lasting and well-balanced; it offers great stress-busting qualities whilst also being upbeat and uplifting - a real cannabis strain for the soul. It was the HTCC Sativa Cup Winner in 2010.
Photoperiod strains rely on seasonal daylight changes, so harvest timing is closely tied to your local climate.
Photoperiod strains give indoor growers more control over size, shape, and when flowering begins.

In theory most strains can be grown outdoors, indoors or in a greenhouse but how well they perform depends on the more exact environmental conditions. This is most important outdoors where climatic conditions can vary widely, so please check the strain information carefully. If your climate is more extreme or growing season shorter you should choose strain that is specifically adapted. Indoor and greenhouse environments can be controlled and made suitable for most strains although space can be a factor for strain that grow very large.
Growing difficulty varies depending on a strain's resilience, structure and environmental needs. Some strains are more forgiving and better suited to beginners and a range of environmental conditions, while others may require closer control of factors such as light, humidity, temperature and feeding.
Our product information and that provided by suppliers can be an indication of potential levels under optimal conditions, and it should not be assumed that results can be replicated in all conditions.
Strains described as beginner-friendly, easy to grow or resilient, in particular Autoflowering Feminised strains, are generally more manageable for less experienced growers. These varieties are often a more reliable starting point than more specialised genetics.
