The Seedsman story is one of ambition and love for cannabis. It all began in 2002 when two visionary cousins transformed their passion into a mission. Their goal? To unite the world's top breeders and seed collectors to safeguard the cannabis gene pool, which was at the time under siege by global prohibitionists. Their journey was nothing short of epic – globetrotting and web-surfing, relentlessly seeking seeds, wisdom, and cannabis culture. From these spirited beginnings, Seedsman evolved into a cannabis leader, a bastion of quality, integrity, and innovation at the forefront of the industry. Founded in September 2002 by the enterprising cousins, Will and Tom, Seedsman began as a family venture and remains so today. Will, with his experience in hemp cultivation and product sales, and Tom, armed with knowledge from a university course in food marketing, were a formidable duo. 

Their journey kicked off with a whirlwind of preparation – designing packaging, crafting a website, and creating marketing materials. Seedsman made its grand debut in March 2003 at the Cannatrade Show in Berne, Switzerland. The company's early image and branding was deliberately mainstream, aiming to resonate with a broad audience to reflect the diversity of people who love cannabis, rather than cling to a traditional hippy or stoner image. In an era where cannabis use crossed all societal boundaries, Seedsman's brand strategy was clear – to appeal to everyone, regardless of lifestyle. 

The initial seed collection was an abundance of treasures from legendary cannabis breeder Sam The Skunkman, and boasted iconic strains like Original Skunk #1 and Original Haze, along with a diverse array of F1 hybrids. Seedsman swiftly expanded the catalog, adding classic strains like Mexican Sativa and Durban Poison, driven by a fervent commitment to preserve crucial genetics. 

Growth was steady, yet the journey was not without its challenges. Will eventually stepped back to focus on family, leaving Tom to steer the Seedsman ship. Under his guidance, the company continued its steady ascent. 

A pivotal moment came in 2005 when Tom discovered Lowryder, a groundbreaking Canadian strain by The Joint Doctor. This strain, with its rapid growth and flowering cycle, sparked immense interest and marked a new chapter in cannabis cultivation – autoflowering cannabis strains. Despite mixed initial reviews, Seedsman championed Lowryder and it soon took off, igniting a trend that would see other seed banks following suit.

Harnessing the momentum of Lowryder's triumph and the revolutionary autoflowering genetics, Seedsman embarked on an ambitious journey, constantly expanding their horizon with an impressive array of other seedbanks. Icons like Barney’s Farm, Greenhouse Seeds, Dutch Passion, and Serious Seeds, alongside the esteemed Mr. Nice Seedbank, joined the lineup, their superior genetics available to both eager retail and wholesale enthusiasts. 

As Seedsman navigated through this exciting expansion, Tom noticed a pattern had emerged: breeders seemed fixated on THC-heavy varieties, often overlooking the vast potential of other cannabinoids. Seedsman forged ahead, scouting for strains that dared to be different. 

This pursuit of innovation bore fruit when Scott Blakely, aka Shantibaba from Mr. Nice Seeds, collaborated with Resin Seeds to unveil CBD Crew – a trailblazing seedbank with a focus on CBD-rich strains. While not pioneers in the market, their flagship strain, Therapy, skyrocketed to fame with Seedsman's international backing, playing a pivotal role in the burgeoning CBD revolution. 

Undaunted by convention, Seedsman continues to blaze trails in diversity and innovation, recently introducing strains rich in CBG, CBDV, and THCV. These strains, though not the most commercially popular, open new doors for research and offer hope to medical patients. Alongside these, Seedsman keeps the adrenaline high with powerhouse THC strains, blending timeless classics like White Widow, Bubba Kush, and Jack Herer with contemporary Californian favorites and their own unique Peyote lines.
