Lao Village is a pure Lao-Thai land-race strain which is traditionally grown by local people for cooking, medicinal and recreational purposes although it is also grown commercially. many villagers grow a few plants around their homes.
Growing at a latitude of 21° north plants these plants will take a six months until they are mature enough to harvest. The buds are not heavily seeded if at all. Plants can reach a height of up to 400 cm. and have long thin leaves. Local harvests take place in either December or January
The villagers in Laos use the flowers in soups, especially chicken soup, both to add flavour but also for the effect. The taste is peppery and its scent is fruity, peppery and musky.
Seeds were harvested in the winter of 2019.
