Caboose originated in California where it was produced by crossing the original (Arcata) Trainwreck with Salmon Creek Big Bud. Following several years of experimentation the guys at Strain Hunters were finally able to successfully reverse it, self-pollinate and finally produce feminised seeds from it.
Caboose grows into a bushy, compact plant with short inter-nodal spacing and big, wide branches. The buds themselves more closely resemble those of Big Bud rather than Trainwreck being large and dense with big, round calyxes that show red and purple colourations. This indoor/outdoor strain is a good commercial choice that combines good yields with high quality in any growing medium. Yields are around 900 gr/m2 indoors after 8 weeks' flowering while outdoor growers can harvest up to 1 kilo per plant of dried buds .
Resin covering the buds has a white appearance making it very attractive commercially too. Buds have a Kush scent backed up by a sweet floral note together with a salty, metallic edge. When burnt it exudes chemical, mineral and floral aromas. Caboose hits hard and fast with an intense and trippy phase before becoming rather couch-lock in effect. Great for just chilling out or a while before sleep for those needing help to get a good night's rest.
Medicinally, therefore, useful to combat insomnia and depression.
