Afghan Skunk is a very strongly indica-dominant (85%) marijuana strain which originated in the USA before being brought to Holland sometime during the 1980s. The Afghani was already a strong and hardy plant but the introduction of Skunk genetics resulted in a plant with tremendous hybrid vigour and enormous yields which had been quite unexpected at the time.
Indoors yields are between 500 - 550 gr/m⊃2 while outdoors grown directly in the ground an incredible 900 - 1000 gr per plant is attainable. Such is its vigour that in legal commercial grows clones (cuttings) are used and quickly put into flower in order to restrict its height to 30 cm. or so. A longer period of vegetative growth will reward the grower with larger plants. Indoors flowering takes 55 days; outdoors harvest will be during September in the northern hemisphere.
Resin production is very good and you can expect a powerful indica effect, lifted by its sativa Skunk genetics, with THC levels around 18%. The flavour is sweet, fruity and slightly spicy with a penetrating aroma.
