Kilimanjaro hails from the hillsides surrounding Africa's highest mountain located in Kenya. It has been continuously in-bred by the local natives before being brought to Europe where it has undergone further stabilisation to improve its resin production.
Kilimanjaro is a pure sativa plant that has a short flowering period. It grows well, reaching as much as 250 cm. in height, in both indoor and outdoor environments producing many branches; indoors it is ready after 60 - 70 days of florescence whereas plants cultivated outdoors in northern latitudes will be harvested in early November which rules out all but Mediterranean-type climates or warmer ones where frosts will not pose a threat. As long as plants remain frost-free they will still develop amazingly big buds in less than perfect conditions and this is also a really good strain for greenhouse cultivation at slightly higher latitudes. Indoor yields average about 350 gr/m2 whereas outdoor-grown plants can produce between 400 - 600 gr. each.
The natives refer to this weed strain as the "elephant killer". a reference to its potency. There they use it as a part of their religious ceremonies and also before hunting trips to psyche themselves up. It has a strong citrus aroma and flavour and THC can reach levels of 20%. The effect generated is cerebral and very energetic - perfect for those hunting trips!
