Women in Weed 2022

Cannabis consuming and weed growing women are on the rise, as are the numbers of us working in all aspects of the cannabis industry. Yet many women feel that this is still a male-dominated space and that women’s achievements and roles in the history of cannabis are overlooked or downplayed.

If you were to think of cannabis household names in science, activism and culture, how many of them would be women? How many female names would roll off the tongue easily?

For a plant whose female form is revered and sought after infinitely more than its male form, Seedsman dedicates each March bringing women’s relationship with cannabis throughout history to the fore.

This is Women in Weed 2022, which runs from the 7th – the 14th of March

The Women of 2022

These are just some of the incredible women featured this year. Click on their names to learn more about them.

The Sisters of the Valley

Also joining us in 2022 is The Sisters of the Valley, a new age order of women based in the Central Valley of California, USA. The women live, work and pray together but aren’t part of the Catholic church or any man-made religion. The women consider themselves Beguine with influences from the ancient tribes of North America. The women grow strains of CBD hemp plant and by moon cycle made infused oil, balms and tinctures, which are popular worldwide.

Share Your Story

If you are a female grower or consumer or know of one, who should be featured, use the hashtag #womeninweed on Instagram to be featured on our social wall.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing stories of females who inspire, who fight, who stand against stigma to proudly be women in weed.

Stay tuned!
