Celebrities who have switched to Vaping

Has the thought ever crossed your mind so as to why well-known people, including celebrities, have been seen on multiple occasions vaping away their favourite product? Do they do it merely because it has become a fashion trend, or perhaps because they actually want to take better care of themselves?  Well, for all we know, it could be a bit of both.

Musicians, celebrities and other famous people have now switched to vaping to do away with their long-standing habit of smoking, with perhaps another plausible reason being that they don’t want to be caught smoking traditional cigarettes on camera. Ironic, we say, because many of them do just that while shooting a scene or two.

One way or another, the vaping trend has sparked a revolution in the way we consume our nicotine or favourite cannabis strain.

Vaping made famous by celebrities and other ‘well-known folks’

Let’s take our favorite celebrities, for example – in recent years, many of them have decided to do away with cigarettes entirely in favour of vaporising devices. Some of the most prominent examples include Jack Nicholson, who has turned to e-cigarettes after many years of non-stop regular smoking. Other notable people who have switched to vaping include Katy Perry and Robert Patterson.

From musicians, TV stars and movie stars to models and other well-known people, we’ve put together a list of people who are not afraid show their love for vaping. Although this list is certainly not comprehensive, and we may have missed some of your favorite personalities, you might still find it surprising to know that someone you’ve been following for years happens to be a regular vaper!

Kate Moss

There’s hardly any moment when Kate Moss has been seen without a cigarette. So much so that one might believe that it’s an everyday part of her wardrobe. However, the celebrated British supermodel has instead transformed her cigarette smoking habit into vaping.

In fact, Moss is now so enamoured by e-cigarettes that she once chartered a flight just to take her favourite vaporisers with her while vacationing in Spain.

Katy Perry

We get it – it can be hard to justify having an entire pack of cigarettes every day because you’ve gained raving popularity in the world of pop music. However, it’s also a well-known fact that smoking can be very injurious to a performer’s vocals.

With that said, Perry has been open about her past mental health and anxiety issues – so it’s perhaps understandable that she once resorted to smoking a lot of cigarettes in an attempt to calm her nerves. In fact, a stormy divorce from Russell Brand and a seemingly never-ending conflict with Taylor Swift might cause anyone in her place to light up cigarette after cigarette.

Thankfully, Perry can now be seen toting a vaporiser instead, which is rather comforting not only for her fans but also for newcomers to the vaping scene.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has always been the persona of ‘cool and hip’ – ever since his days dating back to the hit TV show “21 Jump Street”. He’s always been the go-to Hollywood celebrity when it comes to setting trends.

However, and rather unfortunately, his recent career and private life track record have been far from cool or hip. But we still have to give it to Depp and have nothing but the utmost admiration for his dedication to the craft – in an era of celebrity scandals and endless gossip, he has certainly set a positive example.

Depp has been seen with an e-cigg in hand on more than one occasions, putting him at the forefront of the vaping scene. In fact, he’s probably the first mainstream celebrity to vape on the silver screen – in his movie with Angelina Jolie, The Tourist, he is seen vaping from an e-cigg on a train. But that’s not all, according to legend, Depp has his own personal vaporiser that he likes to carry with himself, and he’s even been spotted drawing from a vaporiser on a KangerTech Mini Tank.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Without a doubt, one of the most successful and prominent actors in Hollywood today, DiCaprio is also an avid consumer and supporter of e-ciggs. Not only that, but he’s not at all afraid to proudly whip out his vaporiser and take a few hits at promotional events and award shows, including the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award show.

Interestingly, the “Wall Street Wolf” recently graced headlines yet again when he casually started to vape at the SAG awards ceremony. And judging by the looks of it, his vaporiser appeared to be a KangerTech AeroTank Mega with the Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0 mod.

The Titanic superstar has also being seen on a number of occasions with different vape pens and box mods. He was recently spotted enjoying an e-cigg in a fine-dining restaurant in New York. The Dailymail also caught a glimpse of “The Man with the Iron Mask” as he strolled through Manhattan while enjoying a few puffs from his favourite box mod.

Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik may have become famous particularly due to the way he dramatically cut off ties with his former music band mates, but the ex-One Direction start has also revealed his troubled past. In particular, his eating disorder and struggles with anxiety. This is why he may have resorted to cigarettes to control his appetite.

Well, lucky for him, he has recently switched over to e-cigarettes. Of course, the musician’s new single, Sour Diesel, most likely hints at the fact that he may be loading up his vape pen with a lot more than vape juice.

Many fans have a love/hate relationship with Drake, but no matter how you see him, he has definitely made it known to the entire world that he is a superstar artist worthy of recognition – someone who has produced quality tracks on an ongoing basis without cutting any corners whatsoever.

However, as of late, the “One Dance” superstar has been the talk of another topic – where he made headlines by inviting a fellow superstar, but this time one of the Internet’s most well-known vape superstars, to share with the audience everything they needed to know about vaping.

Dare we ask – is Drake one of those ‘closet vapers’ or is he simply among the thousands of e-cigg enthusiasts who is genuinely keen on better understanding what this emerging trend is about? Or, perhaps he’s just after a few investment opportunities in the vaping industry? We wouldn’t be surprised, to be honest, if he is.

Either way, you can now openly associate the “Take Care” superstar with vaping, without having to be “hush hush” about it.

Samuel L. Jackson

The Hollywood star, best known for one of the most celebrated cult movies of all time, Pulp Fiction, has indeed established himself as an easily approachable guy, when it comes to freely speaking his mind, no matter where he is or what the subject matter may be.

In fact, he recently appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show, where he put his rhyming and rapping skills on full display, while elegantly holding and puffing from his e-cigg. It’s quite clear that L. Jackson enjoys vaping just as much as he enjoys playing a variety of characters in his movies.

He has also made his love for vaping universally known, posting relaxed and laid back pictures of himself on Twitter, vaping away and proudly displaying his collection.

Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl is perhaps the most outspoken person in this list who loves vaping and is not at all afraid to show it. She certainly didn’t feel the need to hide how she likes to enjoy a few ‘cheap thrills’ through her e-ciggs. In fact, she even rather proudly endorsed the idea of vaping on The David Letterman Show in 2010.

Then in 2013, when she was invited to the same show again, she took a puff or two and even managed to convince Letterman to try out one of her e-ciggs.

Closing Thoughts

We believe that vaping is a natural successor to smoking and it’s certainly a refreshing change to see celebrities and other well-known folks spearheading the trend.

In fact, with vaping doing 95% less damage than traditional tobacco smoking, celebrities who have switched to vaping have done so to live a healthier life, avoid that ‘nasty’ smell, show off their good taste with premium brands and perhaps enjoy their favourite e-liquids at just a fraction of the cost – although that is probably a non-issue for most celebrities!
