We started off the day learning all the basics of cannabis, the different forms it comes in soap bar, weed, skunk etc and the effects they have on the user according to the method of ingestion.
Mr Matthews carried on to dispel some of the common myths surrounding cannabis, especially those from the influential American, Harry J Anslinger, who based a hugely misleading campaign against cannabis based almost entirely on false information. Incidentally it was due to this campaign that cannabis was criminalised in the USA and later in many other countries. Mr Matthews also reported how still there are many people freely giving wrong information on cannabis that helps to increase peoples’ fear of it. One of the most recent he had heard was that cultivators had been adding crack cocaine to their hydroponics systems giving the flowers a white crystalline look – any grower would know these to be glandular trichomes which hold the cannabinoids and which are produced naturally by the plant!
